Shravya Girish

Shravya Girish is a third year Computational & Systems Biology student at UCLA. A UAEM member since 2023, Shravya’s experiences witnessing healthcare disparities in her hometown led to her focus on legislation targeting unfair insurance coverage practices, advocating for low-cost medications, and ensuring transparency in university research. Shravya transitioned from the legislative committee of her chapter to UAEM UCLA’s Research Director, coordinating legislative advocacy efforts and developing writeups on disparities in disease outcomes for marginalized groups.

In her free time, she loves to explore new restaurants, create digital art, and watch cooking competitions. Her goal is to become a pediatric cardiologist and serve communities who often lack resources for preventative and interventional services.
