Michael Xu

Michael is a first-year Medical Sciences student at the University of Western Ontario with a strong interest in healthcare accessibility and improving global health equity. He joined UAEM this year and took on the role of Director of Access for the Western UAEM team, where he works to advance initiatives focused on access-to-medicines issues. He is also a member of the Global Health University Report Card team, contributing to evaluation of university licensing policies and practices surrounding equitable health technology access. 

Beyond advocacy, Michael is passionate in pursuing a career in medicine and is eager to continue developing his impact through research and community engagement. Outside of academics, he enjoys staying active through snowboarding and spending time outdoors.
