Allison Lee is a first year medical student at the UC San Diego School of Medicine. She graduated from UCLA in 2024 with a B.A. in Human Biology and Society, and has been a member of UAEM since 2020. After witnessing members of her family suffer from cardiovascular diseases, many of which could have been prevented via affordable access to preventative care, Allison has been inspired to advocate for policies that remove barriers to lifesaving care. Since then, Allison has advocated for numerous legislation aimed at increasing access to affordable healthcare, and served as an Advocacy Intern for the American Heart Association, where she created a research database analyzing local municipality’s commitments to health policies aimed at improving cardiovascular health outcomes. As an aspiring cardiologist and health policy advocate, Allison seeks to bridge her experiences in both medicine and policy to improve health outcomes for patients through work both in and out of the clinic.
