Jordan Jarvis, DrPH
Jordan Jarvis is a health policy and systems researcher and practitioner. She currently serves as a Senior Policy Advisor for the Ontario Ministry of Health in Canada, where she has led diverse policy files such as on the opioid overdose epidemic, dementia care and the provincial public drug program. She serves on the Expert Advisory Group for the Medicines Patent Pool and is a member of the WHO Collaborating Centre for Governance, Accountability, and Transparency in the Pharmaceutical Sector (University of Toronto).
Jordan earned a doctorate in public health (DrPH) from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM). In her research, she explored the development and implementation of national essential medicines lists in Canada and Kenya, and how these health policies can be leveraged to promote equitable access to medicines. Previously, as the Executive Director of the Young Professionals Chronic Disease Network, Jordan led global advocacy efforts focused on improving access to healthproducts for people with non-communicable diseases. She has worked and consulted for diverse global health institutions, including the World Health Organization, the Global Alliance for Chronic Diseases, and Amref Health Africa in Kenya. She completed a postgraduate research fellowship with the Harvard Global Equity Initiative, earned a MSc in Medical Biophysics from the University of Toronto, and a BSc (Hons.) in Biology from Western University in Canada.
