Maurice Remy
Maurice Remy is a PhD Candidate at the Athena Institute of the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, focusing on patient involvement (and its epistemic value) in (biomedical) health research. He obtained an M.Sc. in Global Health in 2023 and has multiple years of experience as an activist in the field of access to medicines. Since 2018, he has been active in student-led organisations, such as UAEM, and has served in a variety of (leadership) roles within UAEM, before joining the European board in 2025. Apart from being passionate about ensuring global access to all medicines everywhere for everyone according to their needs, he’s dedicated to empowering and enabling young voices in discussions at all levels, as it is still an often untapped but valuable resource for more effective and positive solutions. Further joy in life he finds in playing volleyball, cycling, travelling, going to the cinema and dancing to live music at a concert.
