Immediate action is required to halt the COVID-19 Pandemic and treat those it has affected.
It is a practical and moral imperative that every tool we have at our disposal be applied to develop and deploy technologies on a massive scale without impediment.
As University faculty, alumni or current students we do not want our institutions to be complicit in the deaths of people all around the world by creating barriers to access to life-saving innovations developed on our campus with public-funds.
These diagnostics, therapeutics and the eventual vaccine(s) will take place in our labs with public funds and should belong to the people.
We urge our universities to sign the Open Covid Pledge and make their intellectual property available free of charge for use in ending the COVID-19 pandemic and minimizing the impact of the disease.
We know this is the moral and ethical way forward.
Your submission will help us show that there’s support for change at your organization and/or university – whether you are faculty, alumni, student, staff, or a member of the surrounding community.
Students/Alumni/faculty of these institutions want to see their university sign the Open Covid Pledge.
