Emma Boxley

Emma is a medical student at the University of Southampton. She is passionate about access to medicines, salutogenic medicine and improving the inequalities within our healthcare system. She has held a number of positions in this area including national coordinator for UAEM and Branch President of SfGH; organising a national conference and working with a range of civil societies. She has run training weekends and workshops across the UK, along with helping introduce and run a global health module to the Southampton medical curriculum. She is dedicated to improving physician wellbeing, and her research around this topic received the Southampton Psychiatry Prize and was presented at the RCPsych International Congress. In 2020 she received a scholarship at the Healthcare Leadership Academy, during which she co-founded MindHealth, a wellbeing charity aiming to empower and support medical students. She was also part of the founding team of FutureBrew, a social enterprise that creates beer out of surplus food from local supermarkets. She is very excited to be work towards supporting UAEM European chapters and work more closely with the amazing UAEM members! In her spare time, she enjoys yoga, surfing and cooking.
